The Electronic Brain Project was based in Taipei between January 2023-July 2024. Influenced by the well-documented 'extreme efficiency' and accuracy of local commercial silicon chip manufacturers, the EBP sought to work closely to the margin of error and inefficiency, producing counter-cultural electronic products that 'made themselves' through techno-animist production techniques and improvised making. As an imaginary construct (following the lines of the Creative Ethnography Network CEN) the EBP was a performance-based commentary on A.I., proposing a re-definition of thinking machines using Artefact-Intelligence as a way of expanding thinking through material agency, objects and 'things'. This can be seen as part of the practice-led research for the 'Thing-Kin' project: Thinking through an almost animist kinship with intangible 'things'.
